"We saw Brady Lake for the first time".

Alright here's the run down on this past week:
-we saw Brady lake for the first time
-we got to clean a crack house
-I finished crocheting my scarf 💯💯
-I was forced to get my first flu shot
-I went off roading on my bike downhill into a bunch of bushes on purpose and I finally understand why people like mountain biking.
-we hung out with quite a few drunk and high people this week, but what's new.
-we had zone conference which was super great, as always.
-there's still an abundant amount of roadkill everywhere I look
-Our branch had a primary program with the 4 kids we had, plus some visiting kids

In my interview with President Hales, he asked me about the situation with the neglected kids, Zack (2) and Brianne (10). Of course I started crying about it when I was telling him about it.  On Thursday we found out that Brianne tried to kill herself at school. To be brief, there has been sexual abuse in her past and physical abuse recently from people living in her house. Her mom also found out that her brother and his friends were smoking meth in her house. As I already told y'all before, this house was covered in trash, poop, etc. When her mom found all of this out, she decided to move towns and buy a house. On Saturday we went over to her house to help her clean and pack. They were only taking their clothes since meth gets into everything, furniture and all that. We packed Brianne's things as well since she is currently in the hospital, but the only things she had of her own was a sketchpad and soccer ball. It was obviously disgusting cleaning that house and there were not good vibes, but I'm so glad that they are getting out of that situation and starting new. Please pray for Brianne, Zack, and Misty. They need all the prayers they can get, especially Brianne.

I am so grateful for my family and especially my parents who raised me in a loving and gospel-centered home. I'm grateful I was provided with everything I needed and more. Not everyone is so blessed as we are, and that's definitely something I am learning on my mission.

With suicide awareness month, I want to challenge each of you to become familiar with the signs that someone might be considering suicide, and even the signs that someone may be depressed. There are so many of our brothers and sisters who are struggling and we are to be the savior's hands in helping them.

Sorry for this downer email but it's something that is really close to my heart and I again, ask all y'all to pray for Brianne.

Also it's my companion's 21st birthday this week and I'd love if you'd send her an email or a letter (:

With all my love from the ❤️ of Texas,
Sister MacLay
