"Getting the bird and my near death experience!"

Yeah so this week was weird.

Starting with Monday night, we met this 17 year old girl named Kelsey. She is golden. AND SHE HAS 14 SIBLINGS! all biological! And all but 1 live in her home. We got to meet her older brother and sister when we rode by their home on our bikes and they are awesome too. So prepared. No wonder the parents kept popping kids out because these are some of the most beautiful and kind children I have ever seen. We are going to try them tonight to see if we can teach their family. Pray for us!!!

We also met with an amazing 15 year old girl named Madison!! We had a really short but powerful lesson with her about Jesus Christ and she started to cry when we were talking about the atonement and what it meant for her. We were supposed to meet with her again last night, but she messaged us and told us she got called into work. But, she actually messaged us which made us super happy. Instead of us going and knocking on her door and not getting an answer, which is what typically happens. Lol.

We got to have a lesson Friday in Memphis (40 mins away) with our branch mission leader and their friend. Her name is Hayley. She is so kind, is a 'little person' and makes the best cookies I have ever tasted. The lesson went well, and when we finished it was dark out. There's only 1 real road in Memphis besides the highway and we were driving down that just minding our own business. I was going a little under the speed limit because we had just gone in a dip and I didn't want our Tiwi to yell at me. But we were just driving down when this huge red truck decides it's going to turn left right into us instead of waiting until we pass the intersection 🙃 so sister Eggett is freaking out in the passenger seat and it takes me a second to figure out what the heck this truck is doing. But seriously, God had control of both of our cars because somehow we ended up not crashing into each other. They were literally an inch from hitting us. I don't even really remember doing anything but slamming on the brakes and swerving, trying to not get hit by them and also not hit anything else. It was nuts. There's no way we could have escaped that accident if it weren't for God protecting us. I drove off and we were kinda shaken but we immediately pulled over and just said a prayer of thanks in which I could barely talk because I was sobbing. I have never felt such an overwhelming feeling that God loved me and was SO AWARE of me. So yeah then I just drove us the 40 minutes back home.  Also I would be so bummed if I couldn't drive the rest of my mission. I love driving and we do a lot of it. Plus I get super car sick sitting elsewhere. Lol. Thanks God.

Saturday we had a crazzzyyyy busy day. We drove to Quanah (30 mins away) and saw a ton of people there. My favorite part of the day was getting flipped off. Twice. Two separate occasions. The first one was when we went to a referrals house and the girl told us her mom would be back from the store in an hour. So we go back an hour later and knock and there's no answer. But eventually someone sticks their hand in between the window and the blinds and gives us the bird haha. And then the other time was just a dude in Childress riding by on his bike and saw us (:

OH happy 4th of July y'all!! Hope everyone had a good one! We didn't do anything fun haha. We had to be home by 5pm and there was NOTHING going on in Childress before that. We went to the Dollar General to try to entertain ourselves. We couldn't watch the fireworks either :/ but we watched the most amazing short movie called "on the way home" from the 90s and it's cheesy and spiritual and I loved it. New favorite. 100% recommend.

We also had Bob day this week! My companion's Dad, Bob, passed away a few years ago on the 5th. So every year they have coke floats because coca cola was his favorite! I also made us both some super cute pancakes.
Anyyywayyysss I hope y'all have the best week ever!
