That's right! Transfers are tomorrow and I am leaving Childress! I will be white-washing (really pink-washing) Brady, Texas. (for those who don't know white washing is when two missionaries are sent into an area and basically start the area over. And pink-washing is when Elders were there before and then sisters come in) So apparently it's a pretty hard area with not a ton going on, but I'm super stoked to go! I have only cried a little about leaving Childress and these people that I love so much haha. I will be serving with Sister Lloyd. I am soooo nervous but really so grateful and excited.
Also I'm finished with training!!
I will definitely miss Sister Eggett too! We have become such good friends and we are so alike and work so well together! She is going to take good care of Childress for me though
️
This week was awesome! We are starting to teach the Torres family. They're the ones with 15 kids. I have met almost all of them and have their names memorized. They have sooo much potential and already seem like a happy lil Mormon family. They are seriously amazing and I can't wait to hear about what happens with them.
Yesterday was the best Sunday I have had yet on my mission. This last transfer we haven't really been able to see the results of our efforts until yesterday! We had 2 less actives (who both haven't been to church since they were baptized several years ago; we have been working super hard with the less actives in the branch this transfer) and 5 investigators come to church. And all stayed the whole time! We thought only 1 less active and 1 investigator came because the rest of them were late. We didn't realize that the rest of them were there until the closing hymn, 'I believe in Christ.' I teared up and am just so grateful that God gave me that so that I could know that all the hard work and effort I have put into this area is actually making a difference. It's hard to not get discouraged when you aren't really teaching many lessons and those you are teaching aren't super solid or coming to church. But the success really is in the invitation, and people have the beautiful gift of agency to choose (:
I'm definitely leaving a huge part of my heart in Childress. But Brady isn't even ready for Sister Lloyd and I.
Love you all!
