"what the heck how did I never know any of this??

The thriving metropolis that is Childress, Texas
Heyyyyyy y'all!

I hit 3 months on July 4th! Which means I'm 1/6th done and I don't know how to feel about that.
So this week we took our first sick day! We both had this reealllly weird stomach bug that we tried to ignore but it got the best of us. Lol. It was the worst staying inside during the day but also nice to catch up on sleep. We drove out to Memphis that night for dinner with our branch mission leader and a potential investigator and my stomachs were not happy with the driving or food lol.

We tried by a bunch of former investigators yesterday who seemed like they had potential! Unfortunately, they had all moved, died, or didn't answer.

We got to teach an awesome 16 year old girl named Samantha. She loved it! She was just like "what the heck how did I never know any of this??" and she kept saying her mind was blown and that it all just made sense. True.

We also got to see Jorge again. His Doctor is in our branch, and he told us he "has a problem with doctor Rohm." basically Jorge is pretty old and has a lot of health problems, and ever since his wife died he's had a ton of seizures. Anyways, he told us Dr. Rohm is accusing him of having a BUNCH of weed in his system. He also told us this is the third time, and the third doctor who has accused him of this soooooo I don't know either something flukey has been going on these past few years or Jorge is a pothead.

We had a cup of soda thrown at us this week! This is the second I've had thrown at me lol. This time it was at our car though lol.

Hector is doing great quitting smoking! We stop by everyday to give him candy. Haha. He's like 75. We are having his fiesta this weekend if he keeps it up! He gave us a whole pack of cigarettes his friend gave him! We haven't thrown them out yet because it's like a little trophy lol.

We also met another awesome older Mexican man (they are drawn to me. I guess?) named Jerry Lee. He just got out of a 14 month coma. His mind/memory aren't working all that great and he lost the ability to read and write, so teaching him will be different. But we promised him that if he tried to read the Book of Mormon and the pamphlets we left for him everyday, he would regain his ability to read. He came to church yesterday and wanted to pay tithing too! He rocks!

Welp those are the highlights for this week!

I shared this on my Facebook but here y'all go!
"Because Jesus walked such a long, lonely path utterly alone, we do not have to do so" -Jeffery R. Holland
Remember- because of Christ, we do not have to suffer alone! He did so we would not have to.
11 And he shall go forth, suffering pains and afflictions and temptations of EVERY kind; and this that the word might be fulfilled which saith he will take upon him the pains and the sicknesses of his people.
12 ...and he will take upon him their infirmities, that his bowels may be filled with mercy, according to the flesh, that he may know according to the flesh how to succor his people according to their infirmities.
(Alma 7)
It's through his atoning sacrifice that he knows how to succor, or relieve, us.
Turn to him and allow him to relieve you.

Love you all!
