"How does it hail when it's so hot outside?"

Hey pals! Sorry about last weeks email y'all!

This week was awesome! Let's see, right after I emailed last week, we went and saw our old man Hector. We taught him about the Word of Wisdom. He has been smoking for 50 years and doesn't think he can stop. We told him that he can, and Christ will help him, and he said he would try. So I asked for all his cigarettes and coffee and he said "oh yeah no." soooo he doesn't want to stop yet haha. We also talked about illegal substances and he said he had to confess to the Lord and us that he used to be a pothead. Hahahahaha. I wish you all could meet Hector. He is a character. He came to church and loved Gospel principals! He said he was learning so much he didn't know. He kept sharing his thoughts and us and the teacher were trying so hard to not laugh. He is so dang funny. He would just randomly stand up in class and start reading from the booklet and say "isn't that awesome?!" haha.

After that we went and saw Jessica. If you remember, last week I talked about how she was finally going to get married and baptized and how happy we all were! Well we went over and she told us she just isn't ready to make that commitment with God. She explained how she thinks she is just doing it so she can not be like her mom and how that's not the right reason. So she said she's going to get baptized in another church as a "step" to get her there. Which makes absolutely no sense. I was trying so hard not to cry. I love her so dang much and I know how much happiness this will bring her and peace into her crazy life. My heart literally broke. Agency is a bum sometimes. We also had our super solid couple, Maddy and TJ, just text us and tell us they don't want to meet anymore.

We also had companion exchanges this week! Our sister training leaders came and stayed with us. It was awesome seeing different ways and styles of teaching. It helped me realize that just because I don't teach like sister allart, doesn't mean I'm not an effective teacher. So yeah that was fun! Our sister training leaders are awesome and help us so much!

We also started meeting with a guy named Fransisco. He is not mentally all there, and we don't know how accountable he is. It's hard. He asked us to dinner and took pictures with and of us. He also has been sending kissy face emojis soooo we don't know how to deal with this situation. Advice is welcome. He also doesn't speak very good English. So that's another factor.

We also started teaching a lady named Michelle who just gets it. We taught her the plan  of salvation and she just already knows it's true. She says she wants to tell her husband about it and her sister in California, so we'll get some Spanish missionaries sent to her sister. If you have LDS tools, that's how you can refer people! It's superrr easy and helpful to the missionaries (:

We have been getting storms every night for the past week or so! The area has been praying for rain for a long time so it's been awesome!

We were biking in the rain one day and sister Allarts tire came off and there was no way to fix it. So we walked our bikes home from across town in the hail. ALSO! How does it hail when it's so hot outside?? And like BIG pieces of hail. I do not understand.

Welp folks thats pretty much it for this week in Childress!

sorry i didn't take many pictures!

love you all!
