Sister Marli MacLay: 6 monthin' it in Midland!

I'm staying in Midland a 4th transfer and getting a new companion, Sister Conley! I only have 1 more transfer after this, so there's a good chance I finish off my mission here!

This week was awesome! The highlight was that we started teaching a guy named Cedric. He comes to the volleyball activity that we do each week! He is so prepared. We got to teach him the Restoration and he had so many good questions. He even asked for an extra Book of Mormon to give to his brother too! I'll attach a super old pic we have with him at volleyball.

We're trying to meet with all our members to teach them the restoration and it's been awesome! We started our "Missionary Quest" with them yesterday. I'll attach the documents so you can get an idea of what we're doing. I'm so pumped!

One of the biggest highlights of this week was some sushi I ate lol. I got the Midland Roll and it had fried shrimp, crap, and onions. It also had jalapeno, cream cheese, avocado, spicy sauce etc. It was so bomb and so of course I got a pic. Best thing I've eaten here.

We met again with Bruklin and she's progressing a ton! She's gone from being an atheist to praying morning and night. She has shown so much faith!

We also went to dinner with our neighbor, Dusty. He loves spending time with us and sees the light of Christ in us. He is soso kind and we were able to teach him the Restoration and answer a ton of his questions!

So I mentioned Juan aka Brandon Torres in an email before. He's a less active member we found. But he came to church again...and his 2 little brothers are now on date to be baptized! He is so excited for them.

So right now I'm focusing on becoming a true disciple of Jesus Christ. I decided to start studying each of Christ's disciples individually, starting with Peter. One of my favorite things about Peter is that he "forsook all" to follow Christ. I also love when he bears testimony to Jesus after many disciples leave Jesus. He says, "Lord, to whom shall we go? Thou hast the words of eternal life. And we believe and are sure that thou are the Christ, the Son of the Living God."

I add my testimony to Peter's in saying that I know Christ is my Savior and my Redeemer. That He suffered and died for you and me. I know he has the words of eternal life; that his gospel leads to happiness in this life and eternal life in the world to come.
