Staying in Midland

Hey y'all!

Sister Mac here. We got transfer calls last night and I'll be staying in Midland another transfer with Sister Southard! We're stoked...there's so many good things happening and coming up.

So long story short with Maggie, she was supposed to be baptized Saturday...some stuff went down Thursday night and she is now in a mental hospital getting some help. It has all been crazy stressful and overwhelming...prayers for her and us are appreciated (:

Last week on p-day we went to a petroleum museum. I learned so much about oil I didn't need to know. Fun fact: the Permian Basin (where Midland is) provides 26% of the oil produced in the USA. Also, everything is made with petro oil products....even our clothes y'all.

Funniest thing that happened to me this week was when we were volunteering at a nursing home for people with alzheimers and this guy, Coach, comes walking out in his diaper. He sits on the couch by us like nothing is out of the ordinary...30 seconds later he's standing up and starting to take his diaper off. Skkkrtttt outta there. Later he was going around stealing everyone's cookies and milk and then cussed me out when I told him he couldn't drink another patient's milk that was in her hands. Good times.

We have a new finding technique for YSA. We're volunteering at a humane shelter and walking dogs. We take them in the neighborhood near by...people are a lot more willing to talk to 2 girls walking their dogs than 2 missionaries...lol.

I have been learning SO MUCH about the sacrament lately. In reality, I'm not really learning anything new that I didn't know before, but my outlook is changing and it's becoming more and more meaningful to me. We are so privileged to partake in that ordinance each week! One of the favorite comparisons I've made though has been how the sacrament prayers need to be said perfectly, word for word. The priest blessing the sacrament can say the blessing wrong over and over...and over again. But the only blessing on the sacrament that matters is the one he gets right.
As children of God, our goal is to eventually become perfect. We're going to mess up A LOT along the way. But our  Savior AND Redeemer is there to help us become perfect...and the sacrament helps us remember Him and that eventual goal of ours.

Anywho, I love y'all and hope you have a blessed week!
