So, starting with my favorite person: EDDIE! he is doing SO GOOD! he moved his baptism date up to February 9th! His main motivating factor for that was he realized the sooner he gets baptized, the sooner he can serve a mission. He has so much faith, it is incredible. This week he was taught the word of wisdom which we were somewhat nervous about. Eddie LOVES coffee. His whole existence kind of relies on it. But he wants so badly to keep "Jesus's ammandaments" and so he's gone without it ever since he learned about it. It's funny, every time we teach him something new he says, "why didn't you tell me this before??!" haha. He went to church for the first time this week! He got work off. He went in Amarillo and he sent us a picture with him and the sisters there. HE BORE HIS TESTIMONY! the missionaries there told us Eddie told his whole conversion story, thanked the missionaries and Jesus 1000x, asked the whole congregation why coffee is bad for you, and invited the branch to his baptism here in Lubbock. Haha. He also asked us to meet with his friend, Mereveille. He said if she meets with us and gains a testimony he will date her because he "wants a family like Lehi." I can't even begin to tell y'all how amazing Eddie is. I wish you could all meet him!
Another highlight from this week was the missionary leadership council! All the zone leaders and Sister training leaders came to Lubbock. I got to see my 2nd companion, Sister Eggett. She's still the cutest! I learned so much at MLC and it just made me want to be a better missionary and a better leader.
We also got to go to the temple all together after! They usually don't have a session Friday at that time, but they hooked us up!
As I'm sure most of you know, some changes were made in the endowment session. I am so grateful for a modern prophet and apostles who are able to recieve revelation! It reminds me of the 9th article of faith:
"We believe all that God has revealed, all that He does now reveal, and we believe that He will yet reveal many great and important things pertaining to the Kingdom of God." I left the endowment session feeling so loved as a daughter of God. Everyone who can, which is most of you, GET TO THE TEMPLE THIS WEEK! I promise you will be showered with blessings as you do. You will grow and learn something that Heavenly Father needs you to know right now. I also got to see someone from my first area who was working at the temple! It was a really special moment for me when I got to hug her in the celestial room. I'm so grateful for all the people I have come to love so much here on my mission! I cannot imagine life without knowing them.
I hope you all have a wonderful week!
Sister MacLay
