| Us and Danna at the temple! |
So, the absolute highlight of the week was going to the Lubbock Temple with Danna, only because we got to nap on the way there and back since she was driving. Lol. Jokes. Danna got to go through the temple! As soon as she walked past the temple recommend desk she started crying, she was so so happy. She has been waiting to be able do this for so long. She was so so excited and it made me so grateful to be so close to a temple and to be able to receive all the blessings the temple brings. She then got her endowment and whatnot. A man named Kevin in the branch did all the work for her deceased husband too. After, we got to seal her to her husband. Kevin stood in as proxy. It was so so special. It was the first sealing I have been able to be apart of. The spirit was so strong. We could all feel her husband there. How grateful I am for the covenants and ordinances we are able to make in the temple! She was able to be sealed to her husband for eternity. They don't have to be separated after this life. They will be able to receive all the glory and blessings our Heavenly Father wants for all of us.
We also had exchanges this past week! Our sister training leaders are the absolute best!
We got to help at the Food Bank, deliver Meals on Wheels, help at the museum, and do nails at the nursing home! Service is one of my favorite things to do as a missionary. And just in general too haha. We ran into some Jehovahs Witnesses delivering meals which was very very interesting. I don't know a lot about their beliefs, and everyone mixes us up with them, so we got to talking. Haha. Okay yeah we don't really have similar beliefs at all. Starting with they think that Satan is the one who wants us to have agency, and God doesn't. And then of course there's that scripture in the Bible about the 144,000 people. Wildness. You could just feel the spirit leave when. They were trying to talk to us. They were also just kinda rude and super condescending soo. But- I am curious as to what it actually means in the Bible when it talks about the 144,000. (it's in the beginning of Revelations 14). Because their interpretation of it is just so obviously very wrong. If anyone knows anything about that, let me know! Or if someone wants to research it for me that would be amazing.
Hector is moving to Turkey, Texas. We are so sad! We think it's still in our area, but he will never be able to come to church or anything because he doesn't drive and literally nobody lives in Turkey. But he is still doing super good at quitting smoking! We will miss him tons!
We decided we are really going to start focusing on the members this transfer, especially the less actives and those on the ward directory that nobody knows haha. We are going to visit at least one a day! We are really excited!
Unfortunately, none of our investigators are really progressing. We have a lot of great potential investigators though so that's good! We just have been having a really hard time being able to contact any of them.
We did have a great lesson with a couple named Hunt and Hannah. We were originally going to teach them the Restoration but after talking to them we felt we should share The Plan of Salvation. Turns out, they lost their 13 year old daughter a couple of years ago. The spirit was really strong in the lesson. They had a ton of awesome questions. Hunt said at the end of the lesson that he was 99.9% going to stay with The Church of Christ until he died. But I mean, we can work with that. "So you're telling me there's a chance?" we are planning on going to go back and teach the restoration! Pray it will go well!
Yesterday I had my first people try and Bible bash with me. Well, it definitely wasn't the first time it's happened but it was the first time not having sister allart there. Sister Eggett kind of freezes up in those situations and so I take the lead. But man, everytime people try and Bible Bash with me and make me question my beliefs, it just strengthens my testimony. But it also just makes me super sad because I want their salvation!! They thought we were Jehovahs Witnesses at first too.
Anywho all is great here in Childress. I love the branch. They are my family away from home (: Please pray that we can find solid and prepared people to teach!
I love you all!
