Hope y'all had a good 4th of july!!
We volunteered at a children's parade here. We also got to have dinner with a less active member at Texas Roadhouse sooo it was a good day.
On the 3rd, we got to go help at the home for folks with alzheimers. It's always a good time. Definitely heavily considering going into that because I love working with old people so much (and I've been in YSA areas for the last 9 months lol).
We had another great lesson with Ignacio! We taught him the gospel of Jesus Christ and invited him to pray about being baptized (-:
This week we were doing some planning in a shop that plays Christain music and these lyrics from a song hit me good:
"I found my life when I laid it down...I touched the sky when my knees hit the ground."
I'm really trying to learn how I can lay my life down for Christ...laying everything down on the altar of sacrifice. This week in Come Follow Me, we get to study about Paul! He is such a stud. One of my favorite verses that I think captures this frame of mind is just when Paul says: “Lord, what wilt thou have me to do?” I invite y'all to ask the Lord with me this week that question, or perhaps you could ask "what lack I yet?" But we need to be ready to take the counsel that He gives us and apply it with His help.
