"Can we please go to the temple if I finish all my homework"?

My emails are always going to be about Nyandwi (Eddie) as long as I'm in this area, and then maybe even after.  He finally met bishop this week! He asked him to give him the Holy Ghost and Elder Gibbs (senior missionary in our ward) to baptize him. When he asked Elder Gibbs, he told him, "you were my last choice." haha. His first choice though was Sister Kitterman and I, then President Nelson, then one of the 12 apostles. We clearly explained how we don't hold the priesthood and how President Nelson is a busy guy.
We got to teach him about families and temples this week which was super exciting. We had brought him to the temple once before to just sit in the waiting room and it is his favorite place on earth now.  He's had 5 sisters who were killed in the wars in Congo and 1 by voo-doo. He's really excited for us to be baptized for them!! He literally cannot wait to go to the temple. We were meeting with him Friday and he asked us, "can we please please go to the temple if I finish all of my homework??" he finished his homework so we went with a member, just to the waiting room again. He says he feels like his spirit changes when he enters the temple. His love and excitement for the temple just makes me love it all the more!

I also got to go on exchanges in Clovis this week with Sister Carter! We tried by a bunch of formers and had a ton of success!

Thursday we had bike day and saw so many miracles! One just being we didn't die because Lubbock is the worst place to bike. The drivers are crazy and there's no bike lanes and hardly any sidewalk. Lol. We met a less active we are stoked to work with. When we knocked on her door, she told us to come in and said, "sorry it smells terrible. I smoke a lot of weed." sure enough, there was weed and bongs and pipes everywhere. Haha.
We also had a lesson with a girl named Lydia we are stoked about.

Another cool thing-- we were trying by less active members and felt like we should try this guy Peter. We went over and met his sister-in-law who basically told us to not bother him because he's a mess right now and in his own path or whatever. Lol. We looked him up on Facebook and I realized he had just asked to be my friend the day before! So we messaged him, but he saw it and didn't respond. BUT he came to church yesterday for the first time in a really long time!

This truly is the Lord's work and I'm just lucky to be apart of it!

Love y'all!

Sister MacLay
