"Sis Lloyd and I are staying in Brady!"

Our district

Sister Lloyd and I are staying in Brady! We saw our mission president yesterday at stake conference and he came up and asked us "did y'all pack?" we had completely forgotten transfers were happening and were so confused at what he was talking about. I thought he was referring to packing a gun somehow...haha.

We're super stoked. We have finally gotten to know the area and everything. Plus I freaking love Sister Lloyd and we have so much fun together. It'll be my first companion I have for more than 1 transfer!

This week we got to have another lesson with Daniela. We were teaching us the plan of salvation outside when her Grandma, Delphina, came out and told us to come in because it was too hot. So then her grandma came and sat in our lesson. I invited them both to be baptized! They are so so great and prepared. We went over with our branch mission last night to give Daniela a priesthood blessing before school starts. It was freaking awesome. And then she said her grandma wants us to give her grandma's mom a healing blessing because she is in the hospital. Please pray that it will go well and that Daniel's mom, Hilda, will soften her heart and let Daniela be baptized!

We were driving by a house on Friday and saw a teenage boy on the porch (smoking, of course). We felt impressed yesterday to go back and knock his house. So we did, and we met David Franco! He is super chill and willing to talk to us. He told us he was an agnostic atheist, and that was mostly because whenever he went to a bishop or preacher or someone of authority and asked them questions, they couldn't answer them. So we sat down and he asked us questions and we basically had an answer for all of them. Two teenage girls with no real formal religious training. They were mostly about the Plan of Salvation, which I love teaching. Even though it really didn't seem like it, Sister Lloyd and I both felt that one day he would accept the gospel (:

My best friend Bert is now in the nursing home. He became too much of a danger to himself. He was always trying to chug soap and stuff. But we do service at the nursing home 2x a week so I still get to see him! I recently found out what a big deal he is. He was a hot shot pilot in WWII. He built on his own the first ever diesel plane engine. He also used to build little airplanes. I was told he was basically a genius. I love him. He was put in the nursing home on Thursday and we went Friday. Of course, he was wearing one of his cute hats. He told me I was his best friend and he loved me. I'm so excited to meet the real bert. At one point I said "Bert, can you make me a promise?"
He said, "I can sure try!"
So I said, "when you get to the spirit world will you find missionaries and let them teach you the gospel?"
He said yes, he would.

Something cool that was said by someone in the temple presidency at stake conference was that those who are faithful and accepted the gospel in the spirit world are leading missionaries here on earth to their descendants so they can hear the gospel. Wow! And we get to be apart of that! Try to make it to the temple as much as you can. Not everyone in the world, or even the country, is blessed to be able to have a temple so close. We are currently 4 hours away from the Lubbock temple and I miss going so much. People here travel 1+ hours just to go to church each Sunday.  Our deepest feelings about Christ are reflected in our feelings towards the temple. He will manifest himself to you as you go to the temple to worship Him.

Sending all my love from the ❤️ of Texas!
